Bobby ‘Bob’ Gene Granger

Bobby ‘Bob’ Gene Granger, 93, of Mountain View, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2023, at the Clinton Veteran Center in Clinton, Oklahoma.

He was born at home on July 21, 1930, to Levi and Mady (Kizer) Granger in Saddle Mountain, Oklahoma. Bob grew up and attended school in Saddle Mountain. He enlisted in the National Guard in 1950 and was immediately transferred to active duty in the United States Army, where he earned the rank of sergeant. He was awarded the Bronze Star for his heroism. Bob met Jannette Noland, and they were united in marriage in February of 1968. To this union was born one child, Greg Granger. Bob worked as a truck driver and farm hand for many years. After retiring from being a farm hand in his early 80s, Bob enjoyed watching old Western movies and tv shows. Bob will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bob is survived by his son, Greg Granger and wife, Michele, of Mountain View, OK; grandchildren: Stefan (Naomi) Granger, Torri Granger, Magan (Zak) Kenyon, and Ty Granger. He leaves behind five great-grandchildren: Gracelyn Kay, Cayson, Aiden, Briar and Kash; and sister, Connie Liles of Amarillo, TX.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Levi and Mady Granger; wife: Jannette; son: Bobby Granger; siblings: Essie, Buck, Margie, Gladys, Jack, Berenice, and Pete.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 7, 2023, in the Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain View, Oklahoma. Visitation was from 1-8 p.m. on Sunday, August 6, 2023, at Ray & Martha’s Funeral Home in Mountain View, Oklahoma.
