Johnny Ray Clinton

Johnny Ray Clinton was born on October 6, 1956, at the Carnegie hospital. He was the sixth of seven children born to J.T. (John Thomas) and Mary Kathern (Powers) Clinton. When Johnny was 10 years old, after hoeing cotton for about an hour, he laid down his hoe and told his brother he was going back into town to find a better job. When his mom came to pick him up, she drove all over town only to find him with Denton Bridwell at Bridwell’s 66. This was the beginning of his vehicle service career. He attended Caddo Kiowa Vo-Tech and graduated from Carnegie school in 1974.

0n June 10, 1977, Johnny married the love of his life, Debbie Holman. They made their home and raised two children, Joni and Johnny Lee in Carnegie. Johnny was the owner operator of Johnny’s Service Center for over 29 years. He loved to spend time with his family. There was nothing that he loved more than to be with them and his grandkids. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Johnny is survived by his wife, Debbie of Carnegie; daughter, Joni and husband, Dustin Hooper of Fletcher; son, Johnny Lee and wife Kristy of Carnegie; grandsons, John Thomas (JT) Clinton of Weatherford; Alex James (AJ) Clinton of Carnegie; Dustin Pittman of Pampa ,TX and granddaughters, Emory Kaye and Kayslee Ray Hooper of Fletcher, OK. Sisters, Judy Scott & husband, Don, of Carnegie, OK; Jan Bearden, of Asheboro, NC; and Pam Urquia & husband, Pedro, of Moore, OK and brother, Bob Clinton & wife, Puri, of Carnegie, OK; Father-in-law: Eldon Holman, Carnegie, OK Honorary Sons: Mike Ratliff, Carnegie, OK; Darrel Ballou & wife, Keli, Fort Cobb, OK A host of other family & friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Thomas & Mary Kathern (Powers) Clinton; infant Hooper grandchild, and brother: Dwane Clinton.

Graveside services are planned for 10 a.m. on Friday, June 14, 2024, in the Carnegie Cemetery, Carnegie, OK.

Visitation was from 1- 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Ray & Martha’s Funeral Home in Carnegie, OK.
