Shirely Ann Stubbs

July 23, 2024

Shirely Ann Stubbs, 81, of Mountain View, OK passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024, in

Mountain View, OK. She was born on April 28, 1943, in Stratford, OK to Jessie Jewel (Hooper)

and Ray Clifton Butler, and was one of seven children. On December 9, 1961, she married Gerald Wayne “Dub” Stubbs in the home of Bonnie and Dane Mandrell in Mountain View, OK.

They were married 55 years and 10 days before Dub passed away on December 19, 2016. To this

Union, one son was born, Curtis DeWayne Stubbs. On August 4, 1984, Curtis married Teri Troub of Carnegie and, in 1987, they welcomed a daughter, Candace Dawn Stubbs.

Shirely enjoyed quilting with her mom and sister. When she was not quilting or helping Dub on the farm you could probably find her working at the NAPA store with Curtis or doing anything that involved spoiling her granddaughter, Candace. It did not take long after Candace was born, that Shirley became the “MeMe” to so many. Mom and MeMe were her favorite titles. Shirley loved being around people, taking trips (as long as no flying was involved), and helping others. If you asked Shirley what her favorite thing to do was, she would say “spending time with my kids (Curtis and Teri) and my sweetie granddaughter.” Family time was her favorite time. She had a heart of gold and never met a stranger. She always had something kind to say and you never saw her without a smile on her face. In her spare time, you could find her watching hummingbirds or shopping on QVC.

Shirley faithfully attended the Sharon Baptist Church in Gotebo, OK. Church was her happy

place. She loved to tell everyone about her church family and her love for the Lord.

She is survived by her son Curtis Stubbs and wife, Teri Stubbs of Mountain View, OK; her

Granddaughter, Candace Stubbs of Yukon, OK; her brother, Leo Butler and wife, Mary of

Carnegie, OK; her brother, Ronnie Butler and wife, LaDonna of Carnegie OK; her sister-in-law,

Carolyn Stubbs of Mountain View, OK; her sister-in-law, Doris Butler of Mountain View, OK; her sister-in-law, Pat Butler of Ochelata, OK, along with very special nieces and nephews and a host of many dear friends who were more like family.

She is proceeded in death by her husband, Dub Stubbs; her dad, Ray Butler; her mom, Jewel Mullinax; her sister, Bonnie Mandrell; her brothers, Frankie Butler, Orvil Butler and Bud Butler.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, in the Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain View, Oklahoma.

Services were under the direction of Ray & Martha’s Funeral Home, Mountain View, OK.
