Ronald ‘Ron’ William Langmacher

Ronald “Ron” William Langmacher, “39,” passed away on August 2, 2024, in Carnegie, OK. He was born on April 30, 1937, to Ronald George and Emily (Steffen) Langmacher in Ogallala, NE. He graduated from high school in Hill City, KS and later Southern Nazarene University.

His family came to Carnegie in 1958 when construction began on Fort Cobb Dam, with his father operating the rock quarry south of Carnegie. After being discharged from the Army in 1960, he joined his father working and later managing the quarry. It was here that he met and later married Linda Raibourn, on June 8, 1962. After starting Langmacher Construction, Ron built numerous homes, schools and commercial buildings throughout southwestern Oklahoma. Later, he purchased a ready-mix plant in Anadarko, OK, and managed it during the great Oklahoma “oil boom” of the late 1970’s.

In 1992 he was elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives and proudly served the citizens of Caddo County for 12 years, eight of which he served as Chairman of the Revenue and Tax Committee. Ron gave back to his community in many ways, including service as: a member of the Oklahoma National Guard; vice-president of the Caddo-Kiowa Vocational Technical Center Board, president of the Oklahoma Vocational Technical Educational Council Board of Directors, chairman of the Oklahoma Vocational Administrative Council; a member of the board of directors of the Oklahoma State School Board Association; a member of the Carnegie Chamber of Commerce, serving as president in 1989 and received the Citizen of the Year and the B.W. Jolly Honorary Citizen of the Year Awards. Additionally, Ron was a member of: the Carnegie Industrial Authority, Carnegie Rotary Club, the Carnegie Tri-County Municipal Hospital Board; the Carnegie Masonic Lodge, Shriners and the Guthrie Consistory (32 nd degree Mason).

Ron was preceded in death by his parentsn Ronald and Emily Langmacher, and sister, Delores Croft.

Ron is survived by his wife, Linda and best buddy “Missy” of Carnegie, OK; brother, Robert “Bob” Langmacher and wife, Nina, of Minco, OK; sisters, Nancy Dietrich and husband, John of Mustang, OK and Cynthia Cosgrove and husband, Steve of Plano, TX; and brother-in-law Don Croft of Newton, KS. Additional relatives include: nieces and nephews: Delmer “Dee” Raibourn, III and wife, Cynthia of Irving, TX; Jeannie Johnson and Darrel of Chickasha, OK; Dr. Miles Langmacher of Oklahoma City, OK; Teresa Dietrich and Jacob Rosenberg of San Raphael, CA; Dr. Jennifer Dietrich and Brandon Johns of St Helena, CA; Ryan Cosgrove and Tara of Dallas, TX; Lindsey and Sean Kirkham of Dallas, TX; Addie and Josh Ludwig of Dallas, TX; David Croft of Honolulu, HI; Dennis Croft of Newton, KS; Doug Croft and wife Cindy of Newton KS;

Deanna and Kurt Baker of Peabody, KS; and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024, from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a special viewing and visitation for family and friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Ray and Martha’s Funeral Home in Carnegie, OK.

Memorial services will be Friday, August 9, 2024, at 2 p.m. at the Mountain View United Methodist Church, Mountain View, OK. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, August 9, 2024, at Sunset Memorial Garden, Lawton, OK
