DeLois Best
DeLois Best passed away on August 8, 2024, in Corn, OK. She was born on April 9, 1928, to Dee and Alice (Ashlock) Hopkins, in Alex, OK. She attended school in Apache and Cooperton, graduating from high school in 1946. She met and married her husband of more than 50 years, Floyd Best. Together they moved to Oklahoma City and raised their son, Michael. After their retirement, they moved to Choctaw. DeLois worked for doctors in Kiowa, Caddo and Oklahoma counties. DeLois never met a stranger. She was the kind of person who made everyone feel at ease with her genuine smile. DeLois was incredibly considerate and giving. She loved spending time with her family. DeLois loved God, family and shopping. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her son, Michael Best and wife, Mary Lynne, Choctaw, OK; grandchildren: Brandon Best and wife, Stacie, Choctaw, OK, Justin Best and wife, Emily, Choctaw, OK; great-grandchildren: Ella Abanales Best, Choctaw, OK, Nate Best, Choctaw, Dylan Abanales Best, Choctaw, OK, Emma Best, Choctaw, OK. Colt Best, Choctaw, OK and Benjamin Best, Choctaw, OK. She is also survived by a sister: Peggy Johnson, Mountain View, OK; a brother: Carl Hopkins, Aniston, AL, and a host of other family and friends
She was preceded in death by her husband: Floyd Best; parents, Dee and Alice Hopkins; and siblings: Dorothy Rybka, Otis Hopkins and Floyd Hopkins.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Ray & Martha’s Funeral Homein Carnegie, OK.
Visitation was from 1-8 p.m., Monday, August 12, 2024, and from 1-8 p.m., Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Ray & Martha’s Funeral Home, Carnegie. Interment was in the Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain View, OK.
Services were under the direction of Ray & Martha’s Funeral Home, Carnegie, OK.
