Colleen Tate Davis passed away on June 2024, in Windsor, Colorado. Colleen was a wonderful mother and a selfless friend. Over her lifetime, she helped anyone who would ask, especially her parents and family. Colleen was born to Carl and Annie Tate in July 1932, in Oklahoma. Colleen helped on her parent’s cotton and cattle farm growing up. She helped in the home and out in the fields. She also helped raise her 4 younger brothers, Eugene (Veda), Ronald, Barton (Willa Mae), and Wayne (Linda). Colleen married Theodore T Davis in 1952, in Mountain View, Oklahoma. Colleen attended a local college for her association arts degree. While at college, Colleen met Ted. Ted was in boot camp prior to being shipped to Germany after WWII. She had to wait 2 years for Ted to return to the states.
Colleen raised 3 children, Tim (Mary Jo), Jana (Claude), Kris (Dolores) while her husband traveled for work and attended College. She graduated from Kent State University, Ohio, with a Teaching degree in Business. She taught business classes at a private Lutheran High School. Education was a priority and she helped support her 3 kids through college. Colleen was there to help her parents and husband as their health declined in their later years. Colleen loved learning and self-taught herself many skills. She read many subjects to stay informed and make better decisions especially with health care topics. Colleen was very creative and loved art i.e. painting, quilting, home decorating, landscaping and gardening. She always had a green thumb and could grow anything from a seed. She became a Master Gardener and helped in a local garden club maintaining gardens in the community. Colleen has 7 grandchildren, Trevor, Ethan (Jordyn), Brian (Kate), Sarah (Matt), Dana (Phil), Spencer, Caleb (Mary Kay). And 3 great grandchildren, Lincoln, Theo, and Barnabas.
Colleen (Mom) you will always remain in our hearts and memories and will be really missed.
