Iverna J. Reeves

Iverna J. Reeves, 84, of Carnegie, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born on August 21, 1940, to Hulan and Hazel (Ashcraft) Ainsworth in Cordell, Oklahoma. Iverna grew up and attended school in Cowden and Oakdale, graduating from Mountain View High School in 1958. She married Horace Leo Reeves on November 13, 1957, in Cordell, Oklahoma. To this union were born four children: Marty, Val, Terrell, and Kirby. Iverna helped Horace farm. They moved to Carnegie in the late 1960's and started a mobile home park. She worked as a cashier for Pucketts Grocery, they then owned and operated Leo & Nellie's Frontier Diner, and they also ran the car wash. Iverna started working at the post office in 1988, as a clerk, retiring in 2009. She loved to go antiquing, cooking, going to auctions and yard sales. Iverna was known for her love for God and her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her children: Marty Reeves, Carnegie, OK, Val Reeves, Carnegie, OK, Terrell Reeves & wife, Kenda, Cooperton, OK, Kirby Reeves and partner, James Kent Warden, Yukon, OK; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sisters: DeElda Howard, Visalia CA and Janice Jordan, Purcell, OK, as well as a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Leo Reeves; granddaughter, Amanda Reeves; parents, Hulan and Hazel (Ashcraft) Ainsworth, as well as several brother and sisters.
Visitation was from 1-8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 6, 2024, and from 1-8 p.m., Friday, December 7, 2024, at Ray & Martha's Funeral Home in Carnegie, Oklahoma.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, December 8, 2024, at Ray & Martha's Funeral Home at Carnegie, Oklahoma.
Interment was in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma.
Services were under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Carnegie, OK.
