Rodney Ray Dockins

Rodney Dockins, 68, of Mountain View, passed away on April 9, 2025. He was born on May 8, 1956, to S.A and Twila Ruth Dockins, and spent his whole life in Mountain View, where he grew up and went to school. He graduated from Mountain View High School in 1975, where he played football and was known as a great athlete.
After high school, Rodney went to vo-tech for carpentry and really found his talent there. He was an excellent carpenter and could build just about anything. Over the years, he also helped out with farming when needed.
Rodney had a big love for dominoes. He spent a lot of time at the domino hall in Mountain View, playing and visiting with friends. It was one of his favorite places to be. He had a lot of good friends and family who cared about him. He’ll be remembered for his steady hands, quick wit, and friendly smile.
Survivors include his sister: Polly Dockins, Mountain View, OK; uncle, Elroy Dockins, Claude, TX, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, S.A and Twila Ruth Dockins; grandparents, Sidney and Daisy Ruth; and Roy and Ivan Dockins; and siblings, Yvonne Dockins and Doug Dockins.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain View, OK.
Visitation was from 1-8 p.m., Sunday, April 13, 2025, and from 1-8 p.m., Monday, April 14, 2025, at Ray & Martha’s Funeral Home in Mountain View, OK. Family visitation was from 6-8 p.m., Monday, April 15, 2025, at Ray & Martha’s Funeral Home in Mountain View, OK.
Services were under the direction of Ray & Martha’s Funeral Home, Mountain View, OK.
