Bessie Darlene McKay

Bessie Darlene McKay was born November 8, 1950 at Anadarko, Oklahoma, to Walter and Bessie Baker. She departed this life on July 12, 2025, at the Anadarko hospital in Anadarko, Oklahoma, at the age of 74.
She accepted Christ as her personal Savior as a young teenager. Darlene attended the Carnegie Public School in Carnegie, OK. She married Jack McKay on June 27, 1972, in Lawton, Oklahoma. She worked for the Anadarko Public Schools for 31 years, Sequoyah Carpet Mills in Anadarko, and Western Electric in Oklahoma City.
Darlene is preceded in death by her husband, Jack McKay and step-son, Mike McKay; both parents, Walter and Bessie Baker, two brothers: Willie Baker and wife, Nema, and Bobby (Bob) Baker. Survivors include her son John McKay; stepdaughter, Delores Capshew, and six grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth and De’De Baker of Oklahoma City; sister, JoAnn and Rick Austin of Oklahoma City; brother-in-law, Larry and Donna McKay of Guthrie; Bob McKay of Wichita, Kansas; two nieces, four nephews; sister-in-law, Sally Baker of Chickasha. She is also survived by extended family: Clay Roy (DAD) Marcum; companion, Cheryl (Sherry) Price; special grandkids: Brandi, Travis and Kenna and Terry Day and children, Kristi and Mark Cagle and their kids, and Scott Muncrief, Aunt Ellen (Sis) and Uncle Sonny Laffoon.
She loved going to South Texas with her extended family.
